Come spend your summer with us! Each week campers will have the opportunity to participate in activities including outdoor games, arts & crafts, cooking, ping pong, hiking, organized gym activities and science and nature projects. Campers will also be swimming at Highlands Country Club at least twice a week (weather permitting, of course). All campers will be swim tested the first week they attend the program. In addition, each week will feature special activi-ties and events related to the themes listed below. (No child is required to attend the trips, there will be plenty to do at camp if your child prefers to stay back).
JUNE 27-28, July 1-3: LIFE SIZE GAMES
We've all heard the phrase "You've got to be in it to win it!”. Here's your chance to get in the game. Each day will put you in a life-size version of popular board and video games and game shows. We'll end the week with the best game of Twister you've ever played and a holiday barbecue. Grades 1 and up will go to see Toy Story 4 on Monday, July 1st at Regal Cinemas in Fishkill.
JULY 8-12: NATURE CHALLENGE
Open your eyes to the world all around you. Learn to recognize local plants and animals and explore hiking trails. Learn some wilderness techniques and how to protect the natural world through cool science experiments and create works of art from natural and recycled materials and end the week with a campfire and s’mores. Campers in grades 1-2 will go to Bear Mountain State Park on Wednesday, July 10th. Campers in grades 3-Teens will go to the Bronx Zoo on Thurs-day, July 11th.
JULY 15-19: SUPERHERO ACADEMY
Do you wish you could bring the comic book heroes to life? Then this is the week for you-see if you have skills to be a hero yourself in our “Beat the Bad Guys, Vanquish the Villains” challenge at week’s end- campers in grades 3 and 4 may go to Quassy Amusement Park for an additional $10 on Wednesday, July 17th and those in grades 5 and up may go to Lake Compounce Amusement Park on Thursday, July 18th for an additional $15.
JULY 22-26: TEAM SPIRIT
Which team will get the gold in our competition week? There’s something for everyone- sports competitions, brain teasers and an assortment of wacky events designed to keep everyone laughing and having fun. The week ends with our awards ceremony, taco bar and inflatable obstacle course. Campers in grades 1 and up may go to SPINS Wappingers on Wednesday July 24th.
JULY 29 - AUGUST 2: SHIP REC ISLAND
Ahoy, mateys!!! Set sail for adventure and take part in our interactive journey on the high seas. Start by joining a crew and building your team’s pirate ship, and spend the week following Elisha Nelson’s footsteps searching for treasure hidden right here in Philipstown. Find missing pieces of the map, have your crewmates walk the plank, take part in our scurviest pirate costume contest and test your hand at swashbuckling before the final ship to ship battle to see which crew rules the seas. Campers in Grades 3-up can go on a trip to Splashdown Beach for an additional $15 on Wednesday, July 31, 2019.
AUGUST 5 - 9: WIZARD WORLD
Ever dream of going to a certain School of Witchcraft & Wizardry? This may be as close as you get! We’ll join our hous-es and make potions, search for fantastic beasts, try our hands at Quidditch (muggle version, of course) sample some magical treats, test our wits and maybe go on a quest before awarding the House Cup. Campers in grades 3 – up may go to the Castle Fun Center on Wednesday August 7th.
AUGUST 12-16: HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Join us to send the season off in style as we make some classic summer memories- join the Color Run, make atie dyed shirt, have a campfire sing along, enjoy the glow in the dark dance party and end the summer at our Friday barbecue, carnival and water balloon bash! Campers in grades 1-up can go to Hurd’s Family Farm.
