The Learning Center Preschool
The Learning Center is located within the Philipstown Community Center on a historical property overlooking the Hudson River. The Learning Center embraces a child-centered philosophy, which promotes positive self esteem and individuality in a warm, fun and nurturing atmosphere. Children learn by engaging in hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities that provide opportunities to discover and strengthen skills, talents and individual abilities. Children are encouraged to make choices and be in control of their learning with teacher facilitation. Experiences are provided to enable each child to develop a sense of self, to socialize, to communicate with other children and adults, to develop language skills and learn to be part of a group while having fun.
The classroom environment is divided into learning centers, including library, circle time area, discovery center, art, early learning center, imaginative play, white board, sensory and math centers. The Learning Center also has use of a dedicated fenced in outdoor playground and access to the full-sized gymnasium for indoor play.
9:00am-12:00pm (two, three or five days per week)
Tuesday & Thursday: $185 (non-resident $200)
