  • Just a quick update from Philipstown Recreation. At this point, All Philipstown Recreation Department programs are cancelled/postponed until March 31. This includes all classes/programs, The Learning Center, facility rentals and indoor tot park. I will keep you update as things progress.

We are discouraging all people from coming to the Community Center at this time. Please call 845-424-4618 or email if you need any assistance. Our office staff is still in the office and/or working from home each day. Staff emails are as follows:

    Amber Stickle - amber@philipstownrecreation.com
    Susan Richardson - susan@philipstownrecreation.com
    Karen Virgadamo - karen@philipstownrecreation.com

It is my hope that by the end of March I will have a better understanding if we will be able to reschedule any missed classes or end up just canceling the reminder of the sessions. I ask that you please give us a little time to determine make-up schedules, financial implications, etc. I promise that I have the best interests of our community at heart and will get you answers as soon as I can.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

  • It is out of an abundance of caution that The Town of Philipstown is postponing productions at the Depot Theater for 6 weeks.

We are also postponing or cancelling all nonessential gatherings through our recreation department including this weekends planned pinewood derby.

There are bound to be many disruptions to daily life as the virus continues to spread and more people are infected. We are taking these actions to assist the national effort to contain and control the spread of Covid-19. The ultimate hope is that with fewer cases over a longer period of time, the health care system will not become overwhelmed and we will weather this outbreak with fewer consequences.
We ask that the public use common sense.
This means avoiding large gatherings.Washing your hands completely and frequently.

Following the CDC guidelines to protect you and your family.

    Thank you,
    Richard Shea
    Philipstown Supervisor
